Brenden Anthony Fearrin, Devoted Father and Husband, Dies at 33 in Tragic Kendallville Car-Train Accident


Brenden Anthony Fearrin, a cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved son, tragically passed away at the age of 33 following a car-train accident in Kendallville, Indiana, on January 17, 2026. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and the community heartbroken as they mourn a life defined by love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family.

Born on November 3, 1992, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Brenden was the treasured child of Candance Jo (Fearrin) Lawrence and Erik David Burns. From an early age, he was known for his gentle spirit, thoughtful nature, and the deep care he showed to those around him.

Brenden married his soulmate, Baylee Ann Ralston, on April 27, 2015, in the Martinsville area. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on love, laughter, and family. Brenden was a proud and dedicated father to their three sons, Jayden, Jackson, and Josiah Fearrin. After recently moving to Kendallville, Brenden embraced his role as a stay-at-home dad with unmatched passion, creating a home filled with warmth, joy, and unforgettable memories.

His love for his children shone through in every moment, from playful video game sessions with Jayden to imaginative Dungeons & Dragons adventures with friends at Krypton Comets. Brenden was also an avid reader who found comfort and inspiration in books, and his contagious laughter could instantly brighten any room.

Brenden is survived by his loving wife, Baylee; his sons, Jayden, Jackson, and Josiah, all of Kendallville; his mother, Candance Lawrence and her companion Junior Valdez of Kendallville; his father, Erik Burns and wife Leigh of Georgia; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Moneymaker of Georgia; his maternal grandmother, Constance Buis of Kendallville; his sister, Bryanna Renae Fearrin of Kendallville; his brother, Alexander Lee Carlson of Kendallville; his adopted son, Zachary Bishop of Indianapolis; his uncle, Nathan Cook; and many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.

Though his life was tragically cut short, Brenden Anthony Fearrin leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, gentleness, and compassion. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the countless moments of joy he shared with those closest to him.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Brenden will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
